Sci-Fi Outpost

This is a Sci-Fi modular environment intended for Unreal Engine. It has been modeled with elements in mind to demonstrate its interactive functionality in game. My inspiration for this project was formed around the idea of a simplistic form and shape with an underlying depth and complexity to help speak to its intended function and purpose.

The outpost serves to protect miming operations on an un-inhabitable planet where humans may not operate, even in protective suits. The only solution as a means to gather and mine the coveted resources are to load their consciousness into mech robots that serve as proxies.

Adding to the dangers of this uninviting environment, there are native creatures that seek to attack and undermine the mining operations. So the bunker is outfitted with a variety of ways to defend itself, respawn the operators defending the site, and a workbench to synthesize materials to upgrade weapons and armor.

The entire structure from front to end is a little over a hundred feet long.

The visual design elements of the exterior plating and catwalk help to conceal and blend the structure with the surrounding environment.

Multiple access points for operators provide effective strategic positions with verticality in mind.

The ladder on the back provides access to wedge barriers on the top side that serve as defensive positions for armed assaults.

The turret station in the resting position is able to engage enemy advancements. It is the only position which allows it to discharge its most powerful ammunition because of recoil.

In the active position, the turret station is able to raise on the Z axis to fully engage enemies at a greater distance. This position creates a gap in the hull that allows the operator in the cockpit to manually perceive their environment and engage.

Access into the bunker requires a scanner verification before allowed to enter.

The door opening vertically allows for minimal obstruction of the catwalk to other operators in the immediate area combating enemy offensives.

The front gate access point allows the storage of mobile vehicles within the bunker if needed, as well as multiple proxy members in the event of an overwhelming assault.

Ammunition capsules are stored and recharged on the backside of the turret station.

When fully charged, the capsules are slotted into the chamber on the right to continue enemy engagement.

If the operators proxy is destroyed, their consciousness will be reloaded to the spawn station where they will be rebuilt to continue operations.

Adjacent is the workbench to the left where resources can be gathered to upgrade weapons and armor.
